Possibly, but having never heard them I couldn't comment. Seems to me they have as much effect on everyone really, both Alina and Lily clearly paid them too much mind. But then, neither of them are inclined towards cheerful optimism either. Haven't yet seen the effect they'd have on someone who is naturally hopeful.

And I don't see why you need forgiving for an accident of birth, but that's an old argument, which always ends up going around in circles.

Maybe, but there are a great number of prideful and arrogant people, just as there are many people who turn to the dark gods and yet they're still in bodies that grant citizenship. It's free choice and will that makes people good or bad, it's not the Gods manipulating them because otherwise there would be no free will and Sidhe is a great advocate of letting people make choices and accept consequences.

On the other hand, circumstances do occasionally dictate our actions. You're a fine warrior and you're clever, if you didn't have the iron discipline and modesty associated with being part orc, you probably would be arrogant. I AM arrogant, I dread to think how bad I'd be if I'd been born human.

Surely 'confident' is just another way of saying 'prideful'? *Crystal grins* And I do occasionally overestimate my abilities, which is definitely arrogant - and then horribly embarrassing when other people have to come save me. I think balance is the key, getting the right place between modesty and pride. I daresay we'll both get the balance right eventually.

Not think same *rrr* when go against enemy I confident I more skilled at killing than many enemy *rrr* but I not proud of it. Like I confident I not get scared *rrr* going into battle but not proud but shamed by *rrr* bolgum which mean I not scared.

Well I didn't quite understand all that, but I stand by my statement. I don't care about breeding and you're not ugly to me. I don't spend my time wishing people I care about were anything but that which they are. If I can love them as they are, I have no need to want anything else.
