I see from the notice pinned up on the boarders with Eldenshay, politics has gone to pieces again....

What is it this time?

Not that I can speak with any authority here, but.....

The royal family has been deposed - for want of a better word - and the king is now a dark elf. The ruling council has been dissolved (not literally, of course) and, to top it all, Colonel Tyressen is now General Tyressen and is back in charge of military affairs.

Until I kill him, that is.

Quite possibly, all of this is a little inaccurate, as my mood had been knocked off-balance by a horrible suspicion about a hooded Elf who - as I suspected - turned out to be Tyressen. After that, everything nearly descended into a red haze.

No, it was Tyressen's boss who was executed, the late General who was executed twice - which is quite an accomplishment.

And i was just going to stick a knife in Tyressen - a few times.

Well sir, I do think I'll give you a hand anyway - I need someone to get used to the right handed swordfighting again on, and he sounds like a rather dubious character.

And Lady Tralda gives us luck in all things, so she does. Pray that she helps us get this man, eh?

*Glares from a darkened corner*

It's exactly that sort of unsubstantiated rumour that has lead us back into the situation we find ourselves in now. I think you will find that the murder that occured in Nerese was of an entirely different Elf. King Stephen himself declared that the execution of the honourable General had taken place prior to that. Unless of course you are doubting the King's words. Which would be treason.

*nods towards Kyris, smiling*

"Good evenin' sir, I hope you're well.. Want some 'elp goin' to sort out this Eldenshay problem?"
*Lily coughs haggardly*

"I assume it's going to get sorted out by someone, anyway. I like Elves, so I'm willin' to help out, and this Tyressen sounds like a right bugger, 'scusin' me language."

Kyris...That comment is not very helpful!.
Which side are you on?
Do you wish peace between elves and the rest of Derwentshire?
Where were you when all this "politics" were occuring?...

BTW I did see you when the "other elf" was placed on "trial" by the ex-ex-Knight Commader and an Axirian... I saw you trying to point out the consqences...but you missed the point! You couldn't reason with that Axirian. He was "superiour", and the rest of us did not matter to him.
There was nothing that was going to change the course of events that day.
If we interferred with the Axirian, he basically told us he would drop a couple of Axirian Legions on top of Eldenshay (Now did you really want that?)
Now It might have been an empty petulant threat from a vain, arrogent man. Then again....maybe not.

I dispair at the narrowmindedness and circlar logic of those seeking political power in Eldenshay. The truth appears to be irrelevent. (Even a hinderence to that which is actually desired!)

Hmmm. To answer your questions in order.
(i) Mine and the rest of my People
(ii) Yes. Which is precisely the point I am making. If unsubstantiated rumours circulate that certain influential forces in Ithron were party to a deception, what do you think the reaction of those influential forces might be, and that of those who had been deceived. Fortunately, the Father here has realised that these rumours have no truth.
(iii) I could tell you. But then we might need the Father again to conduct a ritual around your person.

I think you'll find that Eldenshay is more than capable of defending itself in a variety of ways. How are the Griffins, by the way?

You will have to excuse me. I have more fires to put out.
