I'm not entirely sure it's the same with Humans, but I think his age has more to do with it than his occupation. Not that Halflings would ever mess with soul fire of cause... messy business.

Anyway. Elizabeth, what brings you to our neck of the woods... and have you been warned about certain woods around here?

* A wince of remembered pain passes across Sam's face*

No, soulfire is not something to be trifled with.

I think Father Fin was telling Elisabeth about some of the interesting areas around here when I came in, but I'm not sure whether he's completely informed her of everything that we're dealing with - or not dealing with, as may be the case.

*nods*

I've been warned not to go near Eldenshay or they'll likely shoot me. Various people have explained what's going on, so I think I know what to do, and what not to do... but do tell me if I'm getting it wrong 'in the field'!

Anyway, nice to meet you Miss Fibbleweed. I'm from Wakes Fell up in Eborshire, but I was passing through on the way back from Portsdean when I heard there was a hiring this weekend. I may as well stop here than head all the way back just to come all the way down again! Carts aren't the most comfortable of things, not when you're in the back with six pigs or something anyway.

If you are to be an adventurer in these parts, then please call me Straw.

Best advise that I can give you when you are new to an area is to listen to the local adventurers. They are aware of customs and quirks in an area that could get someone killed farly sharpish.

*Straw wanders over to the bar and comes back with a trayfilled with drinks*

Now... has anyone heard anything about any hirings?

Well, there is a notice in the square requesting 'brave and skillful' mena and women to assist in the 'rebuilding' efforts for Ashbourne. So, presumably that will be an attempt to clear out the influence of that demon. And it's probably a foregone conclusion that some people won't be coming back.

Other than that, I haven't heard of anything on offer.

I think I'll have a wander around the square on Sunday and see what's happening. There are bound to be plenty of opportunities to serve the Seven, Ithron and our local community. After all, it's not like we're short of problems at the minute.

No, that's one thing that we seem to have a lot of.

As for that demon, if that is what he is... I'd welcome the opportunity to rid ourselves of it. But without an actual plan to do something I think that we'd be better off trying to contain it.

When I contacted the Keeper of the Secrets about it I was more or less brushed off being told that it was going to be handled. I think she forgets sometimes who was in the party that rescued her those many months ago and who remembers her past. She's a little too friendly with demons for my taste, but at least it isn't one of the dark six that she's following now.

Guess I'll join you in that square and see how we can serve.

*George's face lights up at the vague compliment of being called "quite capable"*

Well, if theres anything I can do, I'll help as I can. Daemons aren't really a problem, they aren't living so I dont have to hold back when fighting them.

Now, as for food, the thing is that its the anniversary of my soulfire awakening in a couple of weeks, I want to hold a party to celebrate it. I'll primarily need cakes and anything else is good too.

Using the term "good" when applied to food is somewhat realative.

Also, you can't just say "cake" as you are well aware that there is a large number of different cakes out there.

Give me a clue... who is coming, how many and are they any preferances as to the type, size and decoration on the cakes.

Also, I'm sure you aren't just having sweet foods, have you thought about the savoury side of food? Are you ahving a sit down meal or are you looking for... what's the term? Ah... "finger food"?

But...I like cake! And I was thinking of, like, cakey things...I dont know, sponge cake? Seed cake? Maybe a blackberry pie if I can find any?

As to people, I dont know, maybe a dozen or so. Will you come Straw? Sam, Miss Tudor? Fin and Nathaniel, will you come too?

I'll have to invite Kyris too, and his son of course. Maybe Crystal will come too, hmm.

I could not refuse such an offer. Perhaps even Lady Isilwen could make an appearance, if she's caught up with the paperwork.

It would be impolite of me to refuse such a generous offer, of course I'll come. Many thanks for your invitation.

Excellent! Its next Wednesday, on the 11th.

I'll foot the expense, but can I leave the food in your hands, Straw?

It should be lots of fun, I'd better write up the invitations.
