At the river Bank on the Eastern Edge of Tesrae

[Vau]

*Vau slows down from his long run and drops to a walk, his face composed and disciplined despite the fresh burns seared along it. He glances up at Crystal's ruin briefly, and then carefully starts to unbuckle armour and weapons and lays them in an orderly fashion before plunging into the river. *

*Vau washes with quick military efficiency in the chilly water, but with care to be thorough. He then casts a brief eye over the fresh pattern of scorches on his hide before disregarding the damage as irrelevant.*

*He emerges from the water and shakes himself roughly to expel the excess water from his clothes and hair. Then he sits on the bank in the warming sun as he unwraps a whetstone and oil flask from his pouch and embarks on his weapon drill. As he works his growl resolves into what is almost a passable tune softly sung to himself*

[Vau]

*An elf, lightly armoured and dressed in the livery of Tesrae emerges from the Ruin clutching two scroll cases. She crosses swiftly to a horse tethered some distance away from the unsettling presence of the predator within the ruin and springs onto its back and departs thundering down the path.*

*Vau emerges as the hoofbeats fade, lighter armed and armoured for swiftness, his face grim but resolute. He quickly kneels to the totems outside and whispers a brief prayer*

Maufrûmlobaz, I ask, watch over her in Dark Places she may now be walking. *rrrrr* I thank for gift of courage, I no longer afraid.

*Vau stands and starts to run at a steady, inexorable pace, south.*
