A tall young man is sat beside a circular table, the old oak pitted and worn with ages and marred with many chips from the tankards of the establishments patrons. His crimson robes are well pressed and presented and he holds himself with an aristocratic bearing. A feathered cap lies upon the table, next to a leatherbound notebook in which he is writing.

Occasionally he glances at the door as though expecting someone, but otherwise returns to his work.

A young woman with a shield and sword which look like she mugged a Crowan rose for them enters like she's looking for someone. She wears rather plain clothes, no identifying tabbards.

"Chivalry Warwick?"

Looking up from his work, Chivalry appraises the young woman. His lingering gaze meets her eyes and his lips purse, almost as though he is looking through rather than at her. After a moment he nods and speaks, his words echoing with an educated air. "Indeed m'lady, and who might I ask are you?"

"Mary Evans, sir"

She takes a seat and discreetly shows him a permit bearing her real name (Lucy Ashworth) and the fact she's actually a forester.

A smile splits his face. "Ahhh Mary, I didn't quite recognise you, so bedraggled from the rain. I do apologise."

Slowly he closes the book after seeing her permit. Lucy is able to catch a glimpse of spidery writing and arcane sigils. Their meaning seems nigh incomprehensible.

Clearing his throat he remarks. "In truth I expected more than this for our old collegiate reunion, but regretably it seems the weather must have delayed anyone else." He gestures to the barman who disappears into a back room. "I've made arrangements for food and a fire if you'd rather get out of the common room?"

"Quite, quite." He stands, sliding the stool beneath the table with his boot.

Stepping quickly across the expanse of the common room he leans his elbows upon the scarred bar surface, beckoning the innkeeper over. A few words are exchanged and the dull clink of coin is heard. A moment later the innkeeper turns away and shouts a few words to the serving girl before passing a key over to Chivalry and gesturing at a door leading to the backrooms.

Offering a polite nod in thanks, Chivalry gestures for "Mary" to follow.

Stepping into the corridor beyond, the passageway is low with several doors leading off it, the only illumination being the shafts of light peeking through a grubby window. Apparently knowing where he is going, Chivalry proceeds down the corridor and opens one of the doors, the key grinding in the lock and as the door swings open he steps into the room.

Inside is a small parlour with a circular table set in the middle, although most of its surface is obscured by a map of Derwentshire held down by several paperweights. A small platter of bread, hard cheese and a bottle of brandy also stand nearby. Moving towards the table Chivalry inspects the bottle and makes a sound of approval. "Just what I asked for." Turning to Lucy he queries. "Do you know if any other's are coming? My brother Deacon assured me he would be here, but evidently he has been delayed."

She sits down and looks at the map for a few moments.

"I'm afraid I came here alone, I have no idea if we're expecting anyone else. I was also hoping for more. I suppose you'd like to know why I'm so reluctant to attach my real name to this and what I already know about the Scar? A lot of what I know is second hand from people who don't seem to be here, but I have had one very interesting first-hand experience before."
