Finally the bridge over the river Dove has been completed.
This connects the Kings highway to the market town of Essiburn in the white peak.
The town currently has little wealth and primarily trades in fleece and mineral wealth – grit stone for mill wheels and semi precious rocks. It does have a thriving agricultural community in the area with the villages of Afappleton, Broadlowash, Thorpe, Offcote and Hognaston – Town elder Oswald Fenny said “Tis great for business, we can now sit back and watch the wealth roll in” |
