Has anyone else noticed how we seem to have developed an infestation of giant spiders? And the buggers can jump, too
Apart from battering the living daylights out of them, which has to be done one by one and would take forever, does anyone have any thoughts on extermination?
With one of the things sitting on my shoulder and stroking my face the other day, I'm quite keen on removing this problem. _________________ This space to let.....

I would suggest rehoming them rather than killing them. I'm sure we must have just upset their nests or something. _________________ Elizabeth Locket

Not meaning any disrespect to you, mIss Foj, but I just had a mental image of a band of adventurers carrying HUGE glass jars and big peieces of card out from the hiring square to capture and rehome all of these big, hairy spiders.
There may well be something to what you say but, as you know, their venom does cause intense pain, which is something I am fundamentally opposed to. If there is any way they could be rehomed (although I would pity their new neighbours), then all to the good.
I'm not so sure this is possible, though. _________________ This space to let.....

I'd suggest hiring dwarves to do it. Probably not the adventuring types but the ones that like to do odd jobs. However if scouts could note down the locations of the bug problems and possible, suitable locations that they might not be disturbed in this might be a wise plan. _________________ Elizabeth Locket

Sam
If the spiders are natural of Longstor, then Foj's idea merits examination.

To be honest, so is a fox, but if it gets into your chickens, or a wolf at your sheep, you'll stick take a crossbow out and get ze little b*st*rd wouldn't you, monsieur?
Zey wouldn't go to waste either, I'm sure giant spider could be come a new delicacy exported from Derwentshire. _________________ Chivalry Warwick

So say if the Guadionese come to your place of living and start hurting your respected devotees, do we shoot them with a cross bow? No. I don't think so. _________________ Elizabeth Locket

Well, apart from the crossbow bit (strictures, you know?), damn right I would. Anyone attacks a memeber of my Church, and they shall reap what they have sown. _________________ This space to let.....

My point is, Nathaniel beat up a respected devoted Brother of the Lady Tralda for no good reason and i dont think he deserves to get shot for it anymore than these creatures deserve it for protecting their home.
I don't think i have fought with you, sir, i'm a pasafist.
Nathaniel, I have done nothing wrong and do not seek forgiveness from you. _________________ Elizabeth Locket

He was a theif madmoiselle, and was magically assulting mercenaries, it was his own fauilt. Thank you very much. And you will find that I did not 'assult' him, I meerly encouraged others to give him a pub kicking, no permanent harm done. _________________ Chivalry Warwick

So please, if you wish to accuse me in ze future of accosting followers of ze Seven, at least ensure that your facts are correct. I have great respect for ze God's and their followers, however Sidhe granted us free will, and if zat is excerised to act in a churlish manner, than zey shall still reap ze consequences.
So monsieur Bronkowitz, ze spiders. Now personally zey only seem to harm those zat enter their territory, and it seemed relatively isolated to myself, although I am no scout. So perhaps it would be best to live and let live for ze moment though? Rather than wasting men and resources cleaning up some little pests, when more pressing matters are at hand. Of course, if they become a nuisance, or their territory expands, then I am certain, as adventurers, it would be our duty to intervene. _________________ Chivalry Warwick
