Four hundred Ithilgweth were "requested" by the mortal King Stephen to aid in his war in Nerese, in return for this gesture the King would guarantee that Eldenshay would remain free and at peace.
What the Council don't want you to know!
The four hundred Ithilgweth were betrayed by the King's forces and barely three quarters managed to survive and return by virtue of their immortal superiority over their betrayers.
The commanding officer of the Ithilgweth was arrested for killing the mortal King's enemies in Nerese on orders of one of the mortal commanders. Despite supposedly being accepted as a citizen of Ithron and an advisor for the mortal King he was murdered in the sands of Nerese without any due process.
Your council cowers in fear at these revelations, fear for their own lives and importance and fear of what you will do should the truth be revealed.
