Come, sit with me.

*Sam leads Nathaniel over to a table just a little distance from the others. He sits, ensuring his back is to them, and lifts his hood. Over his left eye is a ragged and dirty bandage. Lifting the bandage, he reveals a gaping socket, surrounded by livid red scrape-marks and gouges, one or two of which seem a little inflamed*

Please could you tell me what actions I can take to keep this clean and free of in..fect...ion. That is the right word, isn't it? I'm fairly sure that's what Guildmaster Flessa said.

And also, what are my options with it? I know that you couldn't reattach it - especially after what happened to the eye itself, but I'd like to know what I can do in the future.

---Nathaniel appraises the wound critically, searching for inflamed or infected flesh, festering either within or beside the wound.---

Well for starter's you'd best be rid of that dirty rag wrapped around your head and instead apply a fresh dressing. In fact I'll do that for you.

If you don't want the wound to get infected the first stage is to clean the lacerations around the wound, particularly as it would appear that something has caused these gouges with what I would assume are claws? One can never tell what infection's can be carried by a miasma into the humours of your body. Secondly make sure you never let the bandage deterioate into that festering state ever again, ensure that it is changed regularly and each time that you do so, the wound is again cleaned.

Unfortunately it is beyond my skill to repair, I would suggest either having an eye-patch crafted for you, or a false eye by the Guild of Blacksmiths, or if you have enough coin, appeal to the generous nature of your Lord's Sister, for her divine blessings to restore that which was lost.

Not claws. A Varga-Hai elder wounded me in a fight and then, whilst I lay on the floor, cut it out with his sword or, more accurately, bleeding huge cleaver. If it wasn't for the intervention of the rest of the party, I'm sure he would have taken the other eye, too.

Thank you for your advice, I promise I'll follow it. I'll have to see about a patch - I won't have the eye regrown until the Varga are eliminated, I swear to Kharach.

Once again, thank you. I'm sorry to have interrupted your conversation.

*Once Nathaniel has finished his ministrations, Sam gets up and goes back over to the others*

Sorry about that, just needed a specialist's point of view.

Good evening, Father Fin, you're looking a little...tetchy. Is married life not agreeing with you? Sorry, my jokes haven't improved recently.

Won't you introduce me to your companion?

My pleasure, Novice Elisabeth. My name is Samuel Bronkowitz, a High Father in the service of Kharach. But please, call me Sam.

Have you been in Derwentshire long? I have to say, it's one of the more interesting regions of the country. I'm sure that you will find many chances to serve your Lady and your Order.

Nice to meet you High Father Sam.

I've only been here since today actually. I'm from Wakes Fell, up near Kirk Leigh, but I was heading back from a jaunt to some mad island off Portsdean, when I heard there was a hiring this weekend. Thought I might stop off on the way home and see if any help was needed.

Miss Crystal's told me a bit, and Father Fin's filled in some gaps, so yeah, this area does sound... unusual to say the least! I'll do what I can to help.

*Straw walks in looking more like a common farmer than an adventurer - though farmers don't tend to carry knives so openly*

*Seeing a cluster of adventurers she heads over*

Anyone need a refill?

*Gives a sly grin and has a miscievous twinkle in her eye as she reaches for the empty tankard*

You do tend to met locals in the local pub, don't you? Odd that. As for adventuring, I have had the oportunity to kill off a few orcs and slay the odd undead or two.

*Straw gestures around the table*

You'll meet most adventurers in the pub at one time or another. I don't feel the need to drink too much myself, certainly not to the amount that some do...

*Straw shoots a look of vague disappoint in the direction of a couple of people*

... but relaxing with compions is well earned.

George falls through the doorway, as though he had come at a run. He nearly trips but straightens himself in time, adjusts his robe and scans the room.

Eyes drawn first to the red, and so then to Straw he bounds over.

STRAAAWWWW!

Straw, I need your help, its quite possible you're the only person with the ability to help at the moment.
