News has just reached Exmead that a string of thefts occured last night in the noble city of Ashbourne, it is believed that nefarious persons of unknown identity attacked the ecclessiastical caretakers of the Lady Tralda's poor house the "Beggars Refuge", "St Trinians Hospice" dedicated to the Lady Vleybor and a holy site dedicated to the Lord Longstor beside the cities river gardens.
As of yet six followers of the Light are confirmed to have been slain, pierced by blades and poison most foul, there is even rumour that Brother Gregory Horsen of Vleybor was disembowed by the claws of a beast yet to be determined by the Guild of Guards. Alongside these sorrowful deaths number also a dozen injured and destitute caught up in the slaughter in both locals, many appear to have had their throats slit where they lay with few signs of a struggle.
The perfidious villians who have enacted such terrible carnage upon the innocent and defenceless citizens stooped to even further evils that most fateful night, for the cities Churches of Light are aghast and distraught that three most holy relics, each pertaining to a saint born in Ashbourne are reported to have been stolen in these monstrous attacks. The scenes have been cordoned off by the Guild of Guards, and investigations are proceeding. However, such investigations are being delayed by armed clashes between what is suspected to be Ashbournes local gangs. Figures bearing a symbol of a dark circle upon their forehead are reputed to have clashed with men and woman of similiar attire, yet bearing a scattering of brands upon their cheeks, confused and frightened citizens have even reported sightings of dark elves within the city limits, but these are being discounted as simple rumour mongering and should be ignored. The Guild of Guards is at a loss to explain the situation, and is struggling to contain these armed clashes, the culprits disappearing into the shadows and alleyways at the first sign of either militiamen, or liveried lawmen.
The Church of the Lady Tralda has offered a reward for information which will lead to either the reclamation of the Holy Orb of St Esmeralda, or the capture of those responsible for these heretical and unholy acts. Whilst as of yet no statement has been forthcoming from the Churches of Longstor, or Vleybor.
