*The sparse winter flowers do little to liven up the stake studded ruin against the gathering dusk and driving rain from the darkening leaden sky. With water streaming off his heavy brow, Vau's military sense of neatness fights with the practicality of orcish indifference to beauty as he inspects the semi-neglected building.
He looks across at the smaller figure wrapped thickly in a cloak against the inclement weather his tone when he speaks his tone is too carefully controlled and painfully casual*

*Crystal shrugs and from deep inside her hood comes a sigh*

Well, that's always a good thing. I despise waking up in a puddle. I hope the wood sore stayed dry or it could get uncomfortable really quickly.

*Vau moves to the side of the ruin and starts to pull up canvas carefully spread over several stone blocks. He retrieves armfuls of dry wood from below and quickly moves them through and under the ruin's tarpaulin. He returns outside and shakes long soaked hair out of his eyes before returning and replacing the canvas over the remainder.*

Is fine Crystal-az *growl* take you to Darian and then down river to Twinport That not flood for many year. Can inspect militia in morning then show you to Labry road *snarl*.

*Vau's gaze seems somewhat inward, unusually distant from his companion.*

*Crystal absent-mindedly pulls a log towards her and starts stripping away the bark in a thoughtful fashion*

I'm still not sure how the dhaub-mul would help anyway. I don't understand how it helps at all since when I'm in pain, hungry and tired I just end up getting grouchy.

And I hate to say it, which is why I haven't previously - but yes you do. But the only way I know how not to over-react to things is just to grit your teeth - metaphorically speaking - and use your willpower. I know it's yet another strain on your willpower but... you have to start trusting people to do what their supposed to. As an example, you have to get the physician up first and trust them to do their job... once their up then by all means, come stop me leaking. But it does take some time for a person to bleed to death and it won't hurt me in the long run to lose a pint or two.

*she grimaces*

Maybe one step at a time is the best way, cause I'd be most obliged if you didn't charge headlong into enemies so they surround you and beat you to the floor. It makes me edgy.

I can understand charging down nightmares, although I really feel that charging a nightmare is for a scout to do. They move faster without all the metal on. But charging into almost every group of enemies doesn't break them, a few of them surround you and pound you to the floor and the rest hold a line so those of us who didn't charge them can't get to you before you end up on the floor. Leaking.

And as I said, I don't know how to stop it. When I resisted the urge to beat West black and blue for stabbing you it was cause I'd weighed up the goods and bads while I was drawing my dagger. But I don't get a red mist coming down, I just got angry and that's... still in my control.

Just because I tease and mock, just because I cannot serious for more than a few minutes at a time, does not mean I don't respect or like you. Just because you have a habit that irritates me, does not lessen the way I feel. It irritated me from the very first fight I got into, and I loved you nonetheless.
