Of course I'm the same person, I wouldn't know how to be anyone else other than me. My grandmother calls me Kellos at home, and Geoffrey is still breaking the habit. Crystal is Kellos and Kellos is Crystal. Do you know what a nickname is? Or a pet name? In the same way that Nathaniel is sometimes called Nate... it's just a different way of talking to the same person.

Like my sister being Jazzy instead of Pearl Jasmine. Sort of.

Grandmother has two names too, but I don't know what her old one was. She took Lillian when she married my grandfather, I think she wanted to leave who she was before behind, or just blend better when she left her elven lands.

*rrr*Kaalgrisch Grandmother is good example. She change name because she want others to react differently, *rrrrr* if react differently then you change who you are in their eyes.

If I talk to you as "Kaalgrisch Captain Fleetfoot", or "ashmau" I talk to you as commander. If call you Kaalgrisch Lady Crystal I talk polite in Shara society. Call you Crystal-az I talk to you as ... *he blackens slightly* ... as person who is most important of all to I.

When tell person how to address, *growl* you also tell how you want them to see you and therefore *rrrrr* who you are to them. This why only now use "Vau" or "Father". One is for any, other is for when I represent Church.

If called Kaalgrisch Kellos, then that say you half-Shara amongst Golug. If called Kaalgrisch Crystak then that say you half-elven amongst Shara.

Know "nickname", is name used when person want to be informal *growl* can be informal for different reason. Still mean you different person to them.

And you think Ithronian is complcated? There were whole levels of thinking in there that I don't think would occur to anyone else...

But I would argue that as far as I'm concerned I'm always Crystal to you... if I ask you to do something I don't actually require you to do it as I would if I spoke at... say, a guildsman mage. Perhaps to them I am Captain Fleetfoot, but they probably remember that even if they're calling me Crystal.

And I don't change no matter what people are calling me, it's still my personality driving me. I've never noticed a change in your personality no matter where you are...

Is why ... not understand how you feel. *rrrrr* Is also hard because think pukhl of different race fit how think. So lot of pukhlithron seem strange to I. Would like learn pukhlgolug but *rrrrr* think it even harder.

Want know how you feel, *rrr* but only can through words. Not want to make mistake and make unhappy again.

Elven is... tricky... *she grins* I've been learning it all my life and I'm still not fluent. I can manage basic conversation so long as it doesn't require weird tenses or concepts or peculiar words.

And in elven you can get words for things like "words that sound like they look" or "the sound of rain on river water" and I don't think I pay enough attention to the world really to understand where you use words like that in a sentence.

I don't think about feelings in words, I feel them to get that information. I only ever analyse what I'm feeling or thinking if someone else makes me.

I know how feel *rrrrr* somehow words not fit around feeling but is best I can say in pukhlithron, words not even exist in pukhluruk.

Sometime as well seem I want to say *rrrrr* even though think you understand already. Seem important say words ... for connection?
