Hi
Best thing to do would be to come along to one of the events.
Fortunatly the next event is this Sunday !
The system is fairly simple to pick up and all the people you'd need to see would be there! |

Hi Matchett,
Derby runs on the 2nd and 4th Sunday as already noted, it isn't very often that we deviate from that. Have you found out where we are from the other posts?
We are a friendly system that runs often and all over the country, you'll find a branch running every Sunday and most Saturday's somewhere in England, depending on how far you like to travel.
We meet in the car park at Allestree woods at 10.30 in order to get set up and out for 11am. This is the aim at any rate, given how far people travel we are a little lax on the starting time.
Hope to see you on Sunday.

Heya dude, a character background is not essential...however if you provide us with one it not only allows us to tie you into the existing campaign arc, but also allows the ref team to know a little about your character which obviously makes it easier to get you involved in plotlines if we know what makes your PC tic.
Plus, especially if you are new to the system we can also offer advice on what you what character concept you intend to play to make it fit with the background and maybe even find an already existing locale or niché in Derwentshire (thats the county) for them to be affiliated with.
Hope this helps!

If you are interested in playing that sort of concept, there is an existing IC group operating in Derby called the "Tesrae Militia" who whilst predominantly elven, include members of the other races and work for a local NPC noble. They are essentially a skirmish formation of light infantry.
PM me your email address if you like and I can send you the background for them, if you want to jump straight in at the deep end and fit into an existing group template. Although this is obviously only just a suggestion and if its not your cup of tea feel free to go it alone.
Failing that there are a whole host of concepts Fools and Heroes can cater too, if you let me know what you're interested in I can maybe help find something that would suit it.

Hi there,
Seems like my referees and members have already sorted a lot of what you need out. I'll just add that if their is anything else you need to know then I can be emailed on DerbyLO{at}foolsandheroes{dot}org I should be able to provide you a pdf of the current players guide and anything else that you need to know.
Do not worry too much about starting kit, nor character generation. The system is very straightforward and lends itself to developing a characters concept and direction in play.
F&H also has a "try before you buy" policy of 2 free sessions, simply turn up and have a go. If you enjoy yourself then annual membership is twenty pounds and includes all day events for free. Fests (weekend events) also exist and are reasonably cheap.
Hope to hear from/see you soon!

Chris.... let's not all jump on the new player...
There are a few 'templates' out there and you by no means have to go with one of them. There is the scouts guild (which you'll have to join so you can carry weapons) but there are lots of scouty types and differences you can go with. Bring along your ideas and I'm sure that you'll be ok. _________________ Jessica of Darian

Gary is the LO for the branch email DerbyLO{at}foolsandheroes{dot}org
But questions can be directed to refs. As a new player I'd recommend going to Gary first.
Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday. _________________ Jessica of Darian
