Reported sightings
- came out between Twinford and New Market - targeting Dwarves of Clan Greyhaem
- guarding area under ground - LOTS - at least a thousand.
**(need other reported sightings please)**
FACTS
- They only attack if they deem that you are a threat or have been ordered to attack you directly.
- They have a soul inside of them
- When the power of the Gods is put into them the soul is distressed to find out what it is, a second power from the Gods will destroy it.
- "Laying the soul to Rest" will also stop them.
- Made by Master Zane (who is reported as working for the Creedo)
- There are also Liquid Silver Automata, be careful - if "shattered" they explode.

Who found out Master Zane is making them and why do they suspect a link to the Credo? I'm guessing Chivalry? Someone thought this was new information yesterday.

The information has been known for some time and this network has been able to link it.
Chivalry has not been involved with this as far as I am aware.
This information is from adventurers who have been involved with both Master Zane and the automata. The link was made by them and appears to be credible.
It will be new information to some as this information network is only just up and running.
Was there a problem??

Which adventurers? There is only a limited amount of information likely to be recalled when asked for summaries of every problem in Derwentshire, and some people would like to know a lot more detail on the steel automta. It was surprising because people who had studied the automota for a while and knew about Zane had not heard of that link, so there are clearly people who need to be put in touch with each other.

We were informed yesterday about Master Zane's involvement by a Dwarf named Orri Ironhammer, who was controlling three of the automata which he referred to as "the Reborn." Master Zane was supposedly working for the Earl while doing this???
He said that the souls in the automata were volunteers, but how much veracity these claims have is, to my mind, very small indeed. Not all the souls were Dwarfs either.

Zathras was on mission to find Master Zane and explored his laboratory - Zathras has examined both the automata bits he was working with and the steel automata and they are the same manufacture.
Master Zane was later found with his soul stuck within one of his automata creations which we managed to reverse - we were only able to manage this as we had both Master Zane's body (with the automata's animating force in it) and the Automata with Master Zane's spirit in. Zathras does not think we can use this to restore other automatas to their original state.
Zathras made the link when someone mentioned that they had heard about an apparent liquid automata as while exploring Master Zane's lab Zathras encountered it - Zathras tried to disable it by removing it's power source but was unable to find it - Zathras also recommend not trying to destroy the liquid automata via magics of shattering, it get's messy.

There is a reports of a liquid automata deep in the Dwaven areas. No one has survived an encounter with it, but there is evidence. That information was shared in the meeting a few weeks ago.
The Dwaves in that area are being hunted down. Hopefully with the information we have given to them they will now be able to fight back.
Might I suggest that adventurers who want to know more are directed here? This is the purpose of this network, passing on information and sharing. Not just keeping information between the few that have "studied" the problem.
Those that are working on getting the information to adventurers can hardly hand-hold every adventurer who suddenly finds out that information was already known. This system only works if everyone contributes. Then no one is out the loop unless they want to be.
Zathras has been very cooperative in passing along all information that he can here already. If someone wants to share information then here is the place to do it, or find me and I'll write up a report.

As Zathras is the senior Enchanter in the area then who ever it is that you are talking about should already have contacted him, erally. If they had manners. Perhaps you could tell whoever this person is to do so and leave this for NEW information.

Zathras is now confused - Zathras is the source of the information that Master Zane was the manufacturer of the Automata, and that he is working for the Earl. And Zathras was not there this weekend just passed so could not have been surprised to hear it was not new information..
Zathras only worked it out a couple of weeks ago when the liquid automata was mentioned and Zathras connected the work in the steel automata. Which is why it has only just been posted as notice in this network.. It is similar to information about location of Cathedral that information was known amongst adventurers but until 2 adventurers happened to discuss 2 different matters that the link was determined and conclusion could be drawn. |

They definatly workin' wi at least part o'the creedo folk. We ran inta a bunch o'the beggers along wi' a load of creedo whackjobs.
At leas' they said they was creedo, and had all t'marking and such.

And now some of them seem to have had an "upgrade" carried out on them. During the course of our rescue of Earl Androplies, an automata was, to all intents and purposes, resisting my magiccs. The machine was attacking targets as usual, following a priority system and stating that it's "shields" were holding following each casting.
